HarperCollins Children's Books has acquired the world rights, including TV, film and merchandising, for publishing property "Meerkat Madness" by Ian Whybrow. The book for kids ages 7 and up is set to hit in March 2011.

The deal was brokered by Harriet Wilson, editorial director of HarperCollins Children's Books, and Rosemary Canter of United Agents.

"Ian has an incredible ear for voices and the ever-popular meerkats are the perfect subjects for his talents," says Wilson. "He has created an unforgettable cast of characters who boys and girls will fall in love with. 'Meerkat Madness' is an editor's gift and is sure to be a hit for spring."
