A Milwakee, Wisc. court has ruled in favor of Harley-Davidson Motor Company in protecting the brand from the manufacture and sale of unauthorized merchandise through unauthorized distribution channels.

The ruling specifically bans the Greece-based Hellenic Duty Free Shops from manufacturing, selling or promoting any Harley-Davidson branded products.

“Harley-Davidson takes seriously the protection of our brand and trademarks,” says Linda Heban, vice president and chief trademark counsel at Harley-Davidson. “This ruling confirms the importance of that protection while reminding those who manufacture and sell unauthorized products that it is, indeed, illegal.”
