Godzilla is one step closer to production. The notorious monster movie remake signed director Gareth Edwards, a British filmmaker who directed the low-budget independent alien invasion film
Monsters.
Edwards will develop and direct the creature feature for Legendary Pictures, the company that co-produced blockbusters such as
Inception
and
The Dark Knight
; and Warner Bros. will co-produce, co-finance and distribute.
