FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) and BBC One have launched the second 13-part series family drama series "Merlin," which will show this autumn.

FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME), which co-produces the series "Shine Television" and BBC One, holds exclusive licensing rights across distribution, home entertainment (excluding the U.K.) and licensing worldwide.

"The Adventures of Merlin" has been sold to 52 broadcasters in over 180 countries, including CCTV, China's largest broadcaster. The first season premieres on NBC in June 2009.

"We are extremely excited about the next season of 'The Adventures of Merlin,' following on from the phenomenal global success we've had thus far," says David Ellender, FME chief executive officer. "We look forward to bringing the next chapter of Merlin to audiences across the globe that have come to love the program, the characters and the brand."

Special effects are created by The Mill. Filming is under way in the U.K. and France.
