Target will open its first Manhattan store on July 25 in East Harlem, N.Y. To mark the occasion, the retailer will launch Harlem designer collections in the new store, online and at other East Coast stores.

The new Target will be located in the East River Plaza, which is also the home to a Costco and Best Buy. In addition to typical Target merchandise, the store will include a wide selection of multicultural offerings such as Spanish-language and Ebony greeting cards, Gospel and Latin music, Spanish-language books and movies, as well as ethnic dolls. Food and apartment-sized home décor will also be available.

The Harlem designer collections will include IsabelandRubenToledo for Target (swimwear and towels), Stephen Burros for Target (urban knits) and Marcus Samuelsson for Target (kitchenware). Target will donate 5 percent of each product's purchase to a local Harlem non-profit of the designer's choice.
