The block will feature 3D retro segment hosts such as a western cowboy, sci-fi monster, film noir gangster, a tiki girl and a flapper girl introducing classic films, series, shorts and newsreels from the Twentieth Century.
To support the Classic Cool programming, Eyetronics has set up a merchandise and licensing unit to market the company’s original cast of 3D retro characters across a broad range of consumer product categories.
“We have accumulated more than 3,000 classic features, highest quality newsreels and soundies, classic TV series, cartoons, documentaries and all forms of entertainment programming to create our retro entertainment block,” says Dominique Bigle, Eyetronics president and chief executive officer and son of Walt Disney Europe co-founder Armand Bigle. “At the same time, our studio’s in-house 3D cast of characters give Classic Cool a fun and hip contemporary spin that is certain to attract baby boomers as well as today’s generation of television viewers and product consumers.”
