Universal Partnerships & Licensing has teamed up with Chillingo, a subsidiary of Electronic Arts, for the new mobile game “E.T.: The Green Planet” in celebration of the film’s 30th anniversary.

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is one of the greatest science-fiction films ever made and conjures up nostalgia for countless fans around the world,” says Chris Byatte, co-general manager and co-founder, Chillingo. “We are excited to commemorate this global cultural phenomenon by publishing an amazing new game.”

In the new game players must help E.T. return home and save the dying Green Planet by creating enchanted gardens full of intergalactic plant life.

Players grow new plant varieties and use E.T.’s magic healing touch to breed exotic species. By collecting artifacts from the film, players can construct a communicator to contact Earth and share their garden with friends via Facebook and Twitter.

Customers who purchase a new 30th anniversary DVD of E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial will also receive a free in-game gift.

“E.T.: The Green Planet” is now available for free from the App iOS App Store.
