Entertainment One has announced that Laura Clunie has been promoted to vice president of creative affairs and will relocate to the company’s Toronto headquarters to expand the presence of its family division in Canada and North America.

Canada is a key market for eOne Family with a development slate that includes many shows already signed to major Canadian broadcasters.

“As brand awareness for Peppa Pig continues to increase in Canada and the U.S., it has become increasingly important to have a dedicated person on the ground to deepen our relations with broadcasters and content owners and scope out new opportunities for kids’ programming in the region,” says Olivier Dumont, managing director, eOne Family. “With Clunie’s strong international contacts and vision for new content she was the perfect choice for this role.”

Beginning in March, Clunie will be based in Canada and will oversee the acquisition and development of eOne Family content as well as lead all creative affairs for the division.
