Endemol has made an agreement with Platinum Films to acquire the broadcast and worldwide ancillary rights to 26x30 episodes of the 3-D animated children's series "Matt Hatter Chronicles." Licensing deals have been signed with Topps Europe and Penguin Books/Dorling Kindersley.

Topps Europe has been appointed the global distributor (excluding the U.S.) of Matt Hatter Chronicles trading cards and stickers. Meanwhile, Penguin Books/Dorling Kindersley are on board as the worldwide publishing licensee (excluding the U.S.), not including comic books and annuals. Endemol Worldwide Brands will control all other ancillary rights.

The series has been presold to Nickelodeon, GMTV and ITV1 in the U.K. and Nickelodeon Australia, Teletoon Canada and RTE Ireland.

"Matt Hatter Chronicles is a perfect balance of comedy and adventure with state of the art, cutting edge 3-D animation, which our audience is now growing to expect with the explosion of high-end 3-D cinema and the digital video gaming culture," says Debbie MacDonald, vice president of programming and director at Nickelodeon U.K.
