Endemol has acquired U.S.-based Authentic Entertainment, producers of “Ace of Cakes,” “Flipping Out!,” “Toddlers & Tiaras” and “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.”

"This acquisition further strengthens our presence in North America and represents another significant addition to our global network,” says Ynon Kreiz, chairman and chief executive officer of Endemol. “The agreement with Authentic Entertainment in the U.S. is in line with Endemol's global growth strategy of combining organic growth and expansion through acquisitions. Authentic’s great portfolio of hit shows and strong creative track record will also significantly contribute to our plans for further growth in the U.S. cable space."

Authentic joins Endemol’s other recent acquisitions, including Australia’s Southern Star Germany’s Wiedermann & Berg Television , Russia’s Weit Media and the U.K.’s Tiger Aspect, Darlow Smithson and Tigress. Authentic’s reality- and documentary-style series will be added to Endemol’s current programming line-up, which includes “Wipeout,” “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” “Big Brother” and “Jerseylicious.”

"We are proud to become a part of one of the world's most creative and successful content producers,” says Lauren Lexton, co-founder of Authentic Entertainment. “This deal reinforces our position in the U.S. while also giving us the global leverage that comes with belonging to the Endemol network.”

CAA represents Authentic Entertainment and Evolution Media Capital advised the company on the transaction.
