Egmont will introduce a new monthly magazine, Thomas Express, on Feb. 8. The Thomas & Friends magazine will continue to publish every two weeks, with a new look beginning Feb. 15.
The Thomas & Friends brand has had two magazine titles in the market for more than 10 years. Egmont has ambitious plans for growth with this new portfolio, which has an estimated annual retail sales value of £5 million.
Following an investment in market research, Egmont is also launching a new collectible series of Thomas storybooks, based on the new TV series. They are aimed at 1–3-year-olds who are most familiar with the TV show.
Egmont is producing 15 storybooks in total this year, with plans to extend the range even further in 2013. The first five titles in the range,
