Egmont Kids Adds Licensing Exec

Egmont Kids Media has appointed Sten Jorgensen as vice president, global licensing acquisition, in a move toward a more global focus for the division.

Egmont Kids Media has appointed Sten Jorgensen to the newly created role of vice president, global licensing acquisition, in a move toward a more global focus for the division, which is one of the largest children’s book and magazine publishers in Europe.

In his new role, Jorgensen will be responsible for the acquisition and sales of all non-Disney global rights across Egmont Kids Media, leading an international licensing team.

“Egmont is a leading global children´s publisher based upon strong rights and partnerships with licensors. This newly established global role will focus on attracting global rights, transforming these rights into successful product offers and maximizing revenues from such rights worldwide,” says Frank Knau, executive vice president, Kids Media. “We are delighted that Sten comes to us with incredible experience across publishing, licensing and media and in leading international teams across multiple territories.”

Jorgensen joins Egmont from Disney where he held senior publishing, media and consumer product roles over the last 18 years, most recently as vice president of marketing and brand development at Disneynature. He spent part of his early career at Egmont in its magazines division.
