Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online video game from Electronic Arts and LucasArts, will release globally in 2011. An updated publishing agreement has been signed by the two companies.
The new deal sees certain publishing, marketing and distribution responsibilities, which had previously been designated to LucasArts, shifted to EA. Lucasfilm will remain on board as a key partner to collaborate on design and marketing.
Star Wars: The Old Republic takes players back thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vadar, where they can choose to play as Jedi, Sith and a variety of other roles.
