Liongate’s new adaptation of the comic book character is set to hit theaters in the U.S. Sept. 21. Judge Dredd first made an appearance in the British sci-fi anthology 2000 A.D. in 1977, and has since been the subject of a 1995 film, as well as numerous games, video games and novels.
In addition to his return to the big screen, comic book publisher IDW has announced a new monthly Judge Dredd comic for North America.
The Sharpe Company manages the rights for the classic comic books and has recently signed a deal with Factory Entertainment for Judge Dredd bobble heads, figures and plush. Sharpe is expected to announce additional licensees for the futuristic law enforcement officer at Comic-Con, taking place July 12-15 in San Diego, Calif.
Sharpe also represents licensing for the “Judge Dredd” video games, produced by U.K. game developer, Rebellion. Read more here.
