Indian animator DQ Entertainment International and French brand management and entertainment business MoonScoop Group have made a strategic alliance aimed at marrying the business networks and production expertise of each.

In the new partnership, DQE and MoonScoop aim to co-produce at least five television series and two animated or live-action feature films for worldwide distribution, with estimated global costs of over $100 million. They expect to release at least one TV series or film each year of the agreement, which runs to 2012. One or more of the co-productions will also potentially feature Indian mythology and characters that are becoming increasingly popular with audiences worldwide.

The companies will also focus on new media business development, following MoonScoop’s VOD and broadband channels Kabillion in the United States and Taffy Kids in Europe.

The two companies are already working together on the animated TV series Casper’s Scare School, scheduled for 2009 and co-produced with Classic Media. The two companies also worked together on The Fantastic Four animated series based on the Marvel’s superheroes. The MoonScoop Group’s Mike Young Productions, based in the United States and Wales, has also worked with DQE on ToddWorld and the upcoming Twisted Whiskers, a co-production with American Greetings.
