Disney’s Club Penguin, the No. 1 virtual world for kids, unveiled new Puffle plush packaged with redemption codes for use in the virtual world. The toys are made by Jakks Pacific, and available at Toys 'R Us, Target and other mass retailers.
The plush line includes six Puffles, three with hats and three with hair, and the matching items in the virtual world are only available to customers who have purchased the plush.
This represents the first time Club Penguin merchandise will unlock exclusive access to identical virtual items in the online world. Additional items will be added to the line in upcoming months.
Puffles are the penguins’ pets in Club Penguin, and a new Puffle is adopted every second in the virtual world, with more than 25 million Puffles already adopted this year.
The expansion of the product line is in response to the high demand for Club Penguin merchandise, which already includes books, toys and games, as well as the #1 selling Disney property ever on the Nintendo DS. Club Penguin also recently debuted its first mobile app, Puffle Launch, which is now available for download on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch at the iTunes app store.
