Euro Disney has signed a new deal that gives it until 2030 to develop a third theme park, east of Paris in the Marne-la-Vallée region.

Disneyland Paris opened in 1992, and the Walt Disney Studios park opened in 2002.

"We are committed to developing our tourist destination and supporting France's tourism leadership, while addressing the challenges of sustainable leadership," says Philippe Gas, Euro Disney's chief executive officer.

Europe's biggest theme park had a record attendance of 15.4 million visits in its financial year to Sept. 30, 2009. But the financial crisis has hampered visitor spending, leading to losses in 2009 and a reported loss of €114.5 million ($148.9 million) in the six months to March 31, 2010 (and a 6.5 percent fall in attendance).
