Disney to Develop Avatar Attraction

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide, Fox Filmed Entertainment and James Cameron have partnered to bring the Avatar property to Disney theme parks. The Walt Disney Company has exclusive global theme parks rights to the franchise. The first Avatar theme

The first Avatar themed land is planned for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Construction is set to begin in 2013 within the park’s Animal Kingdom. Other locations are expected to follow.

James Cameron, producing partner Jon Landau and Lightstorm Entertainment will act as creative consultants, partnering with Disney on the design and development.
