The proposed resort would be built on 872 acres in the Swanscombe Peninsula, North Kent, 17-minutes from London and two hours from Paris.
The agreement gives LRCH exclusive U.K. licensing for Paramount brands to be featured in an entertainment park at the heart of the site. The agreement does not include investment from Paramount Licensing in the project, which will cost an estimated £2 billion.
LRCH is also in negotiations with a number of major British brands for additional licensing agreements.
The Paramount-branded entertainment resort and leisure district will feature Europe’s largest indoor water park, theaters, live music venues, attractions, cinemas, restaurants, event space and hotels. If approved, the project would be completed in 2018.
“Our vision is to create a world-class entertainment destination, the first-of-its-kind
in the U.K.,” says Tony Sefton, project leader, LRCH. “We are at the start of a long journey, but have been encouraged by the support and buy-in we have had to date. We are particularly pleased with the appetite we are seeing from investors, who consider this a compelling investment proposition.”Subscribe and receive the latest news from the industry.
