More details are in for Disney Consumer Products' new tween fashion line D-Signed, which will exclusively hit Target stores for the back-to-school season on Aug. 1.

Instead of a clothing line depicting characters from popular Disney television series, D-Signed features looks inspired by what the characters would wear themselves on screen. The range targets tween girls (sizes 4 to 16) and to start will feature styles based on Sonny Monroe (Demi Lovato), lead character from "Sonny With a Chance." Pieces, retailing from $4.99 to $19.99, will include embellished graphic tees, skirts, dresses, pants, knit dresses, shorts, fashion tops and jackets, headbands, necklaces and bags.

"Tween girls want fashionable clothes that express their individuality and style, but that moms approve of," says Pam Lifford, executive vice president of global fashion and home at DCP. "Our D-Signed collection at Target brings it all together in a way that allows young girls to express their fashion sense with quality clothing at budget friendly prices."

A second assortment of Sonny Monroe styles will launch for the holidays, and future D-Signed collections are expected for other Disney characters, including Alex Russo (Selena Gomez) on "Wizards of Waverly Place."

"We are thrilled to work with Disney on this fun and stylish program just in time for back to school," says Trish Adams, senior vice president at Target. "The affordable line is perfect for our trendy tween guests that want to stand out in the crowd."
