French court Judge Elizabeth Belfort rejected L'Oreal's suit against eBay France for reportedly allowing counterfeit goods to be traded on its site Wednesday.

Belfort threw out the cosmetic company's suit, saying the online auction company "fulfilled its obligations of loyalty to other operators on the market." L'Oreal filed the suit two years ago and was seeking $4.8 million in damages.

Last year, eBay lost rulings and had to pay damages in France to LVHM and Hermes for having not done enough to prevent high-end fake good tradings.
