Former Nelvana Enterprises president Doug Murphy was recently promoted to president of Corus Television, which kids' stations include YTV, Treehouse, Nickelodeon Canada and Teletoon.

Murphy joined Corus in December 2002 as executive vice president and general manager of Corus Kids and president of Nelvana. He previously worked at Walt Disney.

"Doug is an outstanding executive with a proven track record for building strong teams and great brands," says John Cassaday, president and chief executive officer of Corus Entertainment. "Since joining Corus he has consistently delivered superior business results. Doug's predecessor, Paul Robertson, assembled a stellar team and a powerhouse portfolio of brands which will grow and prosper under Doug's leadership."
