Cartoon Network Enterprises has granted Hallmark Cards more properties, including Spin Master's toy brands and The PGA of America, to their current licensing agreement for greeting cards and party supplies. In addition, CNE's U.K. licensees for Ben 10 have recently been honored.
In the extension agreement, Hallmark will now produce products based on CNE's third-party brands such as Nelvana and Spin Master's Bakugan brand, Liv, Zoobles and other original properties from Spin Master, as well as youth-targeted items featuring The PGA of America. The new social expressions will be available in North America.
CNE's existing social expressions deal with Hallmark includes Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, Generator Rex and Adventure Time.
In related news, Ben 10's U.K. licensees MV Sports and Egmont have won consumer awards for their licensed products. MV Sports won the Right Start Best Toy Award for its Ben 10 Omnitrix Scooter that took the trophy for Best Use of Character. Ben 10 publishing partner Egmont's 10 Minute Tales range was awarded gold in the books and publications category of the 2010 Practical Preschool Awards.
"These awards are significant as they are voted for by U.K. consumers whose opinions are formed on the basis of their experience of using and engaging with our licensed products," says Graham Saltmarsh, Turner CN Enterprises U.K.'s licensing director.
