Chapman Entertainment has announced a five-year contract with Penguin Books as the master publisher for its preschool brand “Rah Rah The Noisy Lion,” which has been acquired by CBeebies. It is the first time that Chapman has worked with Penguin Books.

Under the agreement, Penguin receives global English-language rights (excluding the U.S. and Canada), and can publish books in all formats, including electronic, picture storybooks, beginner books, sticker books, coloring books, activity books, novelty books and audio books under the Ladybird imprint.

“Everyone at Penguin is looking forward to working with Chapman for the very first time,” says Eric Huang, category publisher brands and licensing at Penguin Books. “Rah Rah and Ladybird make the perfect match. Both are parent trusted, educator tested and fun. We are already busy at work on a line of novelty, activity and digital titles that will help establish Rah Rah as a premier early learning brand.”

Earlier this year, Chapman Entertainment announced a five-year contract with Tomy as the master toy licensee for Rah Rah.
