Licensed character confectionery business Bon Bon Buddies recently acquired Derbyshire-based Dovedale Confectionery from PricewaterhouseCoopers for an undisclosed sum.

Under a new subsidiary, called BBB Dovedale, the company will focus on growing Dovedale's trade customer base, as well as expanding production of its chocolate categories.

"We are delighted with this further synergistic addition to our group portfolio, which has already been recently enhanced with the acquisition of TeePee Creative (licensed confectionery toy and gift products) and Kshocolât (premium gift chocolate brand)," says Chris Howarth, managing director of BBB. "We will continue to work with and grow Dovedale's current customer base but at the same time use the facility for BBB's own product ranges for both confectionery licensed product categories and our own brand, Kshocolât. We look forward to working with the Dovedale employees and customers."
