License This! The Next Big Thing is open to new property ideas with roots in publishing, art and design or television. The overall winner will receive a fully furnished stand at Brand Licensing Europe 2011, worth an estimated £4,500 ($7,000) and the chance to showcase their property to more than 4,000 retailers, manufacturers and sales professionals.

"The launch of License This! within the ever-growing Licensing Academy agenda will offer the creators a fantastic opportunity to promote their property, while gaining valuable insight from a group of industry experts," says Jessica Blue, event director of Brand Licensing Europe 2010.

A panel of judges, chaired by Helen McAleer (managing director of Walker Books), will choose a shortlist of four entries to present their idea live at the show

on Sept. 30 during The Licensing Academy. Attendees will get to hear the panel critique the properties and offer valuable advice to each of the creators. The properties will be judged on commercial potential, creativity and cross-product licensing opportunities.
