The U.K.-based production company Acamar Films has acquired the rights to the award-winning preschool property Bing Bunny.

The independent studio will create a new animated series (78x7) and has already secured its first broadcast deal, a licensing partner and a global publishing deal.

CBeebies has signed on to air the series in the U.K. and The Licensing Company will represent the brand worldwide.

Acamar and TLC have already secured their first partner in a global deal with HarperCollins, which plans to publish classic Bing Bunny stories and create a multi-format TV tie-in program, the details of which will be announced soon.

"We have a fabulous history of building character brands here at HarperCollins,” says Ann-Janine Murtagh, publisher, HarperCollins Children's Books. “Our vision is to build the heritage brands of the future, and this acquisition represents a benchmark moment in our strategic growth plans for our children's list. We truly believe Bing Bunny has game-changing potential in the preschool market and a unique, evergreen brand quality."

The “Bing Bunny” series celebrates the realities and adventure of being a preschooler, and will star Bing Bunny and his best friend Flop, along with a cast of friends and family.
