Sesame Workshop and Television Tokyo Broadband Entertainment (TXBB) have signed a three-year licensing agreement to produce Sesame Street content for mobile phones in Japan. Content is delivered to wireless subscribers via a Website that features ring tones of Sesame Street songs and character voices, downloadable screensavers, games and interactive activities. Video clips will be introduced before yearend. Content currently is distributed over three wireless data networks (NTT DoCoMo's I-mode, KDDI's EZ-Web, and J-Phone's J-sky). According to DoCoMo's research, the Sesame Street wireless mobile site is ranked the eighth most popular service among female users in Japan. Sesame Workshop is aggressively pursuing wireless opportunities worldwide, including Europe and other parts of Asia.
