Beanstalk has partnered with the Alberto Vargas Estate to develop a range of licensed products based on the portraits of the artist who died in 1982. The Vargas estate is owned by Patty Conte, grandniece of the world-famous Peruvian pin-up artist.

A line of The Vargas Girl t-shirts launched at Topshop Tuesday, according to an agreement negotiated by Beanstalk with licensee Blackstone Design. Beanstalk is currently researching additional best-in-class licensees across a variety of categories.

Vargas made his name with the pin-ups known as ‘Vargas girls’ printed in Esquire magazine during the World War II, and it was these girls which led to worldwide recognition. The ‘Vargas Girl’ became the iconic soldier’s dream girl. Vargas also painted for Playboy Magazine during the 1960s.
