Brecrest has been appointed as the first official licensee for preschool property Wibbly Pig, according to BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC.

The firm will produce a range of apparel for babies from 0 to 3 years old, including daywear, nightwear, bodysuits and accessories. Initially launching through Sainsbury's TU label for autumn/winter 2010, lines will be available to other U.K. retailers for spring/summer 2011.

Adapted from the books by Mick Inkpen by Will Brenton—creator and producer of "Tweenies"—"Wibbly Pig" uses imagination and adventure to take audiences through familiar routines and rituals, such as bedtime, mealtime and childhood games. The books have sold more than 1.7 million units within the U.K. alone and the program currently airs daily on CBeebies.
