Warner Bros. has announced two new deals for the Batman Arkham video game series–TriForce Sales has signed on create prop replicas and a new Wii U version of the most recent title, “Batman: Arkham City,” will be released for the holidays.
Both “Batman: Arkham City” (2011) and “Batman: Arkham Asylum” (2009) are based on DC Comics’ Batman franchise.
TriForce will create 1:1-scale prop replicas of various weapons, gadgets and iconic objects from both games. The first two products in the series– The Batarang and The Riddler Trophy–are now available for pre-order.
WBCP also announced “Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition” at E3 this week, which was developed by WB Games Montreal specifically for the new Wii U system from Nintendo. The game is a revised version of “Batman: Arkham City,” which includes enhanced gameplay features that utilize the Wii U.
“‘Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition’ harnesses the power of the Wii U system and the Wii U GamePad with features that allow fans to further immerse themselves in the role of Batman like never before,” says Martin Tremblay, president, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “WB Games Montreal evolved the incredible hit game by Rocksteady into a truly unique experience on Wii U.”
The Wii U GamePad provides instant access to the wrist-mounted Batcomputer throughout the new game, allowing players to use the touch screen to seamlessly select objectives, choose their gadget, track evidence, upgrade their gear, detonate explosive gel, and more, all while remaining immersed in the action.
Warner Bro. Consumer Products will be presenting their full portfolio of properties in Booth 4454 at Licensing Expo, Tuesday through Thursday in Las Vegas, Nev.
