Act III Licensing is launching a licensing program for Harlem's historic Apollo Theater, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

As agent, Act III plans to extend the Apollo Theater brand into apparel, accessories, stationery and wall art.

"The Apollo Theater represents American music history in ways no others can," says Aviva Rosenthal, partners at Act III Licensing. "Internationally recognized, we see many areas where the Apollo can be accessible to a new generation of music fans."

Currently, an Apollo Theater exhibit is being featured at the National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. The exhibition, which runs through August, is displaying more than 100 items such as Willie Nelson's bandanna and sneakers, LL Cool J's jacket, the Beastie Boys' boombox, James Brown's cape and jumpsuit and more. The exhibit will travel to Detroit and New York City next.
