American Greetings Properties announced the appointment of two new licensing agents in Russia. RIO Licensing will represent Care Bears and Cookie Jar and Megalicense will represent Twisted Whiskers in the region.

Both Megalicense and RIO Licensing will present their respective brands at this week’s licensing convention in Moscow.

“We’ve been very focused on expanding our presence in Russia, which has been met with great success, including the addition of these two great licensing agents,” says Carla Silva, vice president of global licensing for AGP. “Both the lovable, huggable Care Bears and hilarious, wacky characters of Twisted Whiskers transcend continent and language—it’s no wonder that we have such a strong fan base around the world.”

Since 2002 when Care Bears re-launched, millions of these lovable bears have been brought home to a new generation of fans generating more than $2.8 billion in global sales.

Launched in 2001 as a line of greeting cards, Twisted Whiskers immediately became one of the fastest-selling social expressions lines ever developed by American Greetings.
