adidas has named Manhattan Beachwear as its new U.S. licensee in the swimming category in an effort to expand adidas’ footprint in the swimwear industry.

The first adidas swimwear products from Manhattan Beachwear will be available in January 2013 and will include adidas Pool, a line for high-performance swimmers, and adidas Beach, a line of fashion swimwear.

adidas already holds contracts with other sports licensees in wrestling, boxing, table tennis, martial arts and tae kwondo.
