9 Story Entertainment unveiled a raft of new partners for the "Almost Naked Animals" licensing program, including U.K. agency Lisle International, Freeze, a division of Central Mills, and ABG Accessories. The deals were brokered by The Licensing Shop.
Lisle International will represent the U.K. licensing rights for the series, which airs in the U.K. on CITV. The agreement was made with the Licensing Shop, which manages worldwide licensing rights for the series.
Freeze has secured rights for t-shirts, fashion tops and hoodies in all sizes; while ABG has secured the rights for cold weather accessories, spring and summer cut and sewn headwear and rainwear including umbrellas and slickers. Both agreements are for the U.S. market, and will launch next year.
Almost Naked Animals launched on Cartoon Network in the U.S. last June, aimed at a target audience of boys’ aged 6-11.
"Almost Naked Animals is a property with such strong character designs that people laugh out loud on first sight. It’s not surprising that our first license agreements are from the fashion industry," says Natalie Osborne, executive vice president of business development for 9 Story Entertainment. "We are thrilled to have these successful licensees, who are leaders within their respective product categories, jump onboard!"
"We are delighted to be working with The Licensing Shop and 9 Story Entertainment on this great new property," says Francesca Lisle, principal at Lisle International Licensing. "Almost Naked Animals is just the type of license that we want to add to our portfolio and we can’t wait to start talking to prospective licensees about the opportunities to be had. We see Almost Naked Animals translating on to so many different types of merchandise, as the characters are not only quirky and abstract but also fun and adventurous. With a fantastic style guide, we know terrific products can be developed.”
