‘Flappy Bird’ Flies into Retail

The creator of “Flappy Bird,” Vietnam-based developer Nguy?n Hà ?ông, has partnered with Concept One to develop a line of accessories featuring the mobile game.

The line will include headwear, cold weather gear, bags and related accessories, and will available at mass market and specialty retailers this fall.

Released in May 2013, “Flappy Bird” caused a furor in February when Nguy?n Hà ?ông removed it from Apple's App Store and Google Play because he felt guilty about the game’s addictive nature.

“In a very short period of time the Flappy Bird app has become a phenomenon,” says Effy Zinkin, president, Concept One. “The game’s success is aligned with our intent to bring pop culture brands to market quickly in order to maximize the trend opportunity.”
