TLC has signed a number of deals for retro fashion and lifestyle products for Sony Pictures Consumer Products' classic library from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s—Ghostbusters, "Bewitched," "Starsky and Hutch," "Easy Rider," Karate Kid, Taxi Driver and "Charlie's Angels" among them.

Niche apparel licensee, Bravado, has launched a line of Ghostbusters and Karate Kid T-shirts for adults and young adults into retailers including HMV, Amazon and play.com. Trademark is to produce T-shirts based on the classic "Starsky and Hutch" television show.  Peter Black is producing men's gift and novelty items for Ghostbusters, and TMI is designing a range of Ghostbusters pajamas and boxer shorts for men.

Deals covering accessories, gifts, novelties, footwear, underwear, nightwear, stationery and homewares are soon to be signed, TLC says.

"For consumers who grew up with these brands, they represent the staple entertainment of their childhood so the warmth and nostalgia for them is significant," says Lisa Shapiro, TLC Entertainment division managing director. "We are seeing the trend for entertainment nostalgia moving from music to film and TV, so we're thrilled to have the opportunity to secure partners who can give these screen classics a retro twist and bring them to the fore again."
