Seasonal Halloween retailer, Spirit Halloween, a division of Spencer Gifts, has announced the creation of a new licensing department.

Licensing veteran Eric Morse will head the new department. He will work with licensors and vendors on the wide range of properties that the retailer carries each year, as well as leading future licensing initiatives.

Prior to joining Spirit Halloween, Morse worked as the director of licensing, global toys at Sesame Workshop and at Hasbro Entertainment and Licensing. Most recently he served as the head of marketing for Dylan’s Candy Bar.

“As Spirit has grown into the largest seasonal Halloween retailer in the country we recognized the need to have an experienced executive working with our licensors and vendors to maximize the potential through our nearly 1,000 stores,” says Kym Sarkos, vice president and general merchandise manager, Spirit Halloween. “Eric will focus on enhancing the opportunity for key brands in store. His experience at Hasbro, Sesame Workshop and Dylan’s Candy Bar in various licensing and marketing roles will allow him to create unique and differentiated programs that make the customer’s experience more memorable.”
