Sequential Brands Group has announced a deal to bring its skate footwear brand DVS to bags and accessories with new licensee Aquarius.

Aquarius will launch a collection of DVS bags, backpacks and accessories this fall in the skate specialty arena designed to complement the brand’s footwear distribution.

"Our team is very excited to create this category in partnership with DVS," says Bobby Fields, vice president, Aquarius. "We believe that the brand's authenticity in the action sports arena is a perfect fit for what we do."

"The DVS growth strategy for 2014 and beyond includes global expansion and product extensions to further develop DVS's hold as an authentic lifestyle brand rooted in action sports," says Rick Platt, group president, Sequential.

The new category will debut alongside an expanded marketing campaign for the brand that will feature new messaging, branding and a revamped website designed to give the property a fresh look and perspective.

DVS already boasts an athlete roster comprised of some of the top skate, snow and motocross teams, including skaters Torey Pudwill and Daewon as well as Olympics snowboarding qualifier Mark McMorris.
