Saban Brands has acquired another new brand for its burgeoning portfolio of fashion and lifestyle properties–the Australian surf brand Piping Hot.

Established in 1975 in the coastal Australian state of Victoria, Piping Hot is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary. The brand established itself by launching new technical advancements in surfboards and wetsuits, and has since grown into a full-fledged lifestyle label. For the past 18 years, Piping Hot has enjoyed a retail partnership with Target Australia that includes a range of categories such as surfboards, swimwear, footwear, beach towels and headwear.

"Piping Hot is an authentic Australian brand that serves as a destination for cool, accessible and on-trend surfwear," says Elie Dekel, president, Saban Brands. "This new acquisition supports our growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region and will drive expansion of the Piping Hot brand and our overall business worldwide."

Piping Hot joins Saban Brands Lifestyle Group, which also includes Paul Frank, Macbeth and Mambo.

"Piping Hot is an exceptional addition to SBLG's rapidly growing portfolio," says Dan Castle, managing director, Saban Brands Lifestyle Group. "It's unique for a brand to be rooted in rich history and culture, and simultaneously maintain such broad appeal and accessibility. We look forward to growing the Piping Hot brand in Australia and around the world."
