Angelo Baque’s streetwear brand Awake NY has unveiled its footwear and apparel capsule with Reebok Classic.

The capsule includes two shoe reworks: the Workout Lo Plus and Instapump Fury.

“To me, [the Workout Lo Plus] is still very much a New York shoe,” Baque told HypeBeast. “A lot of people don’t see it as a New York shoe because the narrative has been lost over the years. When I think of Reebok and of the Workout silhouette, I think of Raekwon…. I look at it, and I instantaneously go back to 1993.”

Included in the apparel are two iterations of Reebok Classic’s hockey jersey, along with a tracksuit. Colors in the collection include bright yellow, white, bright blue and black.

The collection as a whole pays homage to the ‘90s hip-hop and art movements of New York.

The Workout Lo Plus includes a yellow bottom with blue “Awake” printing on the side of the shoe. Apparel includes “Awake New York” print on the jerseys. Baque also teased a future collaboration.

“We have another shoe coming,” he says. “Stay tuned, all will be revealed.”

The current collaboration is available at AwakeNyclothing.com and in-store at Dover Street Market NY & LA. It will launch globally on March 20 at Reebok.com and select local retailers.
