Basic Thinking has announced plans for a new apparel collection inspired by Redan Alchemy’s classic British puppet character Sooty, who celebrates his 65^th anniversary this year.

The line will feature both adult and children’s apparel and is set to hit retail in early 2014.

“Sooty is a timeless classic. His iconic look has obvious appeal in the children’s sector, but we also see a real market for adult wear with a retro feel and a nod to Sooty’s anarchic sense of humor,” says Karl Hickey, head of brand licensing, Basic Thinking. “We are looking forward to working with Sooty and the Redan Alchemy team to produce some great new products for the young and the young at heart.”
