Manchester City and the Football Association of Iceland (KSI) have teamed with PUMA for new kits. KSI has been given a new home kit, while Manchester City boasts a new away kit. Both will be used for the 2020/21 season.

The new home jersey for KSI is inspired by Iceland’s landscape and volcanic basalt rock column formations. It marks the first time the new Iceland logo will be displayed on the shirt.

The new logo represents solidarity and protecting one’s position or home turf. The logo features a modern version of the guardian spirits, showcasing the four spirits intertwined to form a single entity inlcuding the bull, the giant, the vulture and the dragon. The spirit symbols are prevalent in Icelandic folklore and pay tribute to the country’s fighting spirit and heritage.

The new KSI home kit will be available for pre-sale on Aug. 10 and will be on sale in-store Aug. 21 on PUMA.com, at PUMA retailers and at select retailers worldwide.

The new Manchester City away kit for the 2020/21 season will be worn by the men’s, women’s and youth teams. The new away jersey features an all-over pattern inspired by Castlefield and the Bridgewater canal, an area symbolic of Manchester’s past, present and future.

“With this kit we wanted to celebrate the culture of the city,” says David Bremond, product line management head, Teamsport Licensed. “We looked for places where people come together to explore their creativity through art and music. Castlefield is rich with history and significance to the city; it truly connects with cultural youth scene and creative roots. The bridge over the canal is an iconic design, which inspired us to bring this classic structure to life through the pattern and the color palette of the new jersey. We wanted the jersey to feel special and unique to fans and celebrate Manchester’s rich culture.”

The new jersey echoes the home kit with further inspiration taken from the city of Manchester and its history, as PUMA continues to craft kits through the lens of culture. The kit is completed with black shorts and dark blue socks.

The away kit will be available Aug. 3 at PUMA.com, ManCity.com and at select retailers worldwide.
