Disney China has collaborated with four Chinese designers to create new fashion collections inspired by Minnie Mouse.
The designs from Ji Cheng, Han Lulu, Cindy Soong and Makin Ma will debut this week during Shanghai Fashion Week. Their designs include:
Cheng’s Warm and Comfortable Minnie Collection–The collection will blend Chinese traditional embroidery with hand-made texture. According to Cheng, her brand will advocate positive energy and will have a zest for life that matches Minnie’s spirit.
Lulu’s Lovely Light Evening Gown Inspired by Minnie–This evening gown line uses geometric figures and patterns from the 1950’s and ‘60s to create a modern evening dress for the metropolitan woman.
Soong’s Balance Between Feminine and Casual–This fashion range was inspired by Minnie’s positive attitude and features multiple items suitable for various occasions in daily life.
Ma’s Lead the New Trend of Elegance–Ma’s designs will celebrate Minnie’s independence and individually.
“Minnie Mouse is Disney’s fashion star,” says Allen Au-Yeung, vice president, product creative, The Walt Disney Company Greater China. “Since Minnie’s inception, her classic polka dots and red bow have always been on-trend and continue to appeal to young adult females in China and around the world. Disney China is pleased to work with these renowned Chinese designers, whose creative interpretations of Minnie’s style will connect with young fashionistas in China.”
