London Spirit and Transport for London (TfL) have teamed up ahead of The Hundred's return with a new Underground-inspired playing shirt to be worn in the cricket opening home fixture.
The playing shirt marks the second year of the partnership, following a range of TfL-inspired London Spirit apparel launched in 2023, with the likes of Heather Knight, Dan Lawrence, Meg Lanning and Liam Dawson donning the shirt in the opening game at Lord’s.
The limited-edition shirt is available online and at Lord’s Cricket Ground for all London Spirit home games during the competition. The design takes inspiration and pays homage to the familiar Barman moquette that sits alongside the TfL roundel and London Spirit iconography.
“We are delighted to have worked with the London Spirit team again to create another exciting design for cricket fans to enjoy whether they’re traveling on the Tube to watch The Hundred, or watching the matches with friends,” says Ellen Sankey, brand licensing manager, TfL. “Like the Tube, cricket is a huge part of London’s history, so it’s great to see how London Spirit has used our iconic heritage to make these new innovative designs.”
“The playing shirt is really cool; I love the design and think fans will too,” says Cordelia Griffith, player, London Spirit. “I’m incredibly excited to make my debut for London Spirit this summer and can’t wait to experience playing at Lord’s in front of a packed-out home crowd.”
The Hundred returns July 23 for its fourth season, with cricket action fused with electric entertainment through a partnership with BBC Music Introducing. Cat Burns will perform at The Hundred Opener at Kia Oval, with Zara Larsson appearing at The Hundred Final at Lord’s Aug. 18.
