Karl Lagerfeld is teaming up with French sourcing company Children's Worldwide Fashion to create a childrenswear line, a number of new outlets confirmed last week.

According to a press release, "The announcement reflects the brand's ongoing commitment to newness and will allow Karl Lagerfeld to share its ironic, playful, creative vision to a young audience."

CWF also licenses the childrenswear collections of Boss, Burberry, Chloé, Little Marc Jacobs and Timberland.

"We are particularly pleased about this partnership with Karl Lagerfeld," Freddy Mallet, chief executive officer, CWF, told Glamour. "It is in line with our continuous search of collaboration with luxury brands of international renown. We are very ambitious about development objectives for this line, which is fully legitimate in CWF portfolio of brands under license."

The news comes just a week after the company announced a collaboration with cartoonist Tiffany Cooper for a capsule collection.
