Frequent licensee Junk Food Clothing has tapped the brand management agency Artestar to license its own brand.
Artestar plans to extend the t-shirt company’s brand into categories beyond vintage apparel including footwear, outerwear, home décor, housewares, bedding, sporting goods, back-to-school and stationery.
Product will be based on the Junk Food Designs collection, an original line that is the company’s third best-selling brand amidst Junk Food’s licensed lines for brands like the NFL, Disney, DC Comics and Coca-Cola.
“I see an amazing opportunity in utilizing Junk Food’s vast archive of what really is pop art–completely original creations done mostly by hand by their super-talented design team, and popularized on the modern medium of the t-shirt–to expand the brand beyond its current place as a leader in the t-shirt design world into a leader in product design at large,” says David Stark, president, Artestar.
