Iconix Brand Group has appointed Fashion Footwear as the new footwear licensee for the Danskin brand in the U.S. and Canada.

The deal will see Fashion Footwear design, manufacture and distribute Danskin's line of women's lifestyle and athleisure footwear. Danskin's first collection following the partnership is expected to launch this fall.

"Danskin has strong brand awareness, and with the ongoing popularity of athleisure, we have a significant opportunity to grow the brand through new licensing partnerships that will bring Danskin into more categories and territories," says Bob Galvin, president and chief executive officer, Iconix Brand Group. "Partnering with Fashion Footwear for Danskin's new footwear is part of our strategy to take advantage of Danskin's substantial brand equity."

The Danskin deal follows another recent Iconix partnership with Umbro and soccer star Ashlyn Harris. Iconix's move saw the creation of a co-branded apparel collection curated by the FIFA Women's World Cup champion.
