Head Sport has tapped PS Brands/Planet Sox to create sport, tennis and performance socks under its brand in North America in a new multi-year agreement.
The Head sock collection is expected to be available by February 2014 at various retail chains in the U.S. and Canada.
“PS Brands is the perfect group to manage the growth of the iconic Head brand socks back into the market,” says Georg Kroell, executive vice president, Head Sport, the company that owns the Head brand. “The company is a true leader in the sock category, and we see a very positive future in this new partnership.”
Founded in 1950, the Head brand originally focused on the skiing and tennis categories, but has since expanded into general footwear and sports apparel.
“Historically, the Head brand has always been dedicated to creating high-performance products,” says Elie Levy, chief executive officer, PS Brands. “We look forward to continuing that trend with our Head sock products. We are excited to maximize on the brand’s heritage and continue the current momentum in the marketplace and grow this new category.”
