JD Sports Fashion Group has tapped the brand licensing agency Global Icons to bring several of its British fashion brands to North America.

“The partnership between JD Sports and Global Icons will be integral to strengthening the global presence for our brand portfolio,” says David Ward, head of brand development and licensing, JD Sports Fashion Group. “We are confident Global Icons will help us introduce our popular brands to new markets through strategic licensing alliances and further grow our customer base by reaching new audiences.”

Among the brands included in the agreement are the heritage menswear brand Duffer of St. George, kids streetwear brand Brookhaven, leisure brand Mckenzie, sportswear brand Carbrini and the menswear brand Cecil Gee.

“Capitalizing on the success JD Sports has achieved with their dynamic fashion and sports lifestyle brands, we intend to play off each brand’s signature look and personality by finding the right partners who will realize the brand vision,” says Jeff Lotman, chief executive officer, Global Icons.
